Toyota AVL
The Toyota Autonomous Van Loader is a conceptual electric warehouse vehicle designed to assist in streamlining the delivery van loading process for last-mile delivery. Designed to match the size and orientation of cargo shelves of common class 2 and class 3 delivery vans, the AVL is capable of loading entire delivery payloads in a matter of seconds compared to the industry average of 15 minutes.
The AVL is fully autonomous and is able to locate its assigned delivery van at the fulfillment center and drive to it wherever the van Is on the premises. Compared to traditionally loading delivery vans manually a couple of packages at a time, the AVL is able to do the entire process in a fraction of the time. Not only does the AVL save time, but it also reduces labor, and cost, and introduces a new industry standard.
