Vayu Breathing Aid
COPD Patients are more likely to die from Covid-19 than other patients. Although there is no cure for it, there are some things they can do to help them with their condition such as CPAP therapy. Vayu is a modular mask designed to protect the user as a piece of personal protection equipment and also works like a mini C-Pap machine for COPD patients.
The main components of the mask are two fans, one heater, and an Arduino Nano to control them. The mask is operated via 2 rechargeable lithium polymer batteries, one to power the two fans and one to power the heater and the Arduino. It is controlled by a switch that can change the intensity of the fans. For charging, The user must attach both pieces via the magnets on the mask and use a USB type C charger to charge them.
